Judit Polgar is the greatest female chess player of all time, and there’s virtually no debate about that. From the time Polgar was 12, she was the top-ranked female player in the world for more than 26 years, all the way up to her retirement in 2014. Her peak ranking was No. 8 in the world and her peak rating was 2735. She is an honorary vice-president of the International Chess Federation, and is the first European to become a member of the ‘UN WOMEN Planet 50-50 Champion’ team.

Judit Polgár is a Hungarian chess grandmaster, generally considered the strongest female chess player of all time. In 1991, Polgár achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, at the time the youngest to have done so, breaking the record previously held by former World Champion Bobby Fischer.

Judit is a Caissa (Chess Oscar), European Chess Legend and Prima Primissima award winner, holder of the Hungarian Order of St. Stephen, Honorary Doctor of the Budapest University of Physical Education, Honorary Citizen of Budapest.
