Dr. Shepherd is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Yale School of Medicine. He is a board-certified Infectious Disease specialist at Yale University School of Medicine with an active HIV and General ID practice, both in-patient and outpatient, and has extensive global health experience from Nigeria, Botswana and India as a CDC and WHO medical officer.
He was Principal Investigator for several internationally recognized randomized controlled trials; Isoniazid Preventive Therapy Trial, RIFAQUIN Trial, XPRES Study and Co-PI of the NIH-funded Kopanyo Study and served as Clinical Advisor to the TDF-2 Study of PrEP in Botswana.
He is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and a Fellowship in Infectious Disease at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
