Stephanie Au is the first athlete to have represented Hong Kong four times at the Olympics. The flagbearer for the Hong Kong team at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games, she is the holder of Hong Kong records at a variety of distances. Balancing a world-class career in sport with being the face of fashion brands is demanding, but Stephanie Au Hoi-shun navigates these two notoriously high stakes worlds with grace and good humor.

Stephanie is a Hong Kong competitive swimmer. She is a four-time Olympian, having represented Hong Kong at the 2008, 2012, 2016 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Olympics. She holds 13 Hong Kong swimming records, and has also appeared on the cover of magazines such as Vogue Asia, Jessica and Harper’s Bazaar Asia along with charity event appearances for Make-A-Wish, Unicef and the Women’s Foundation.
She has done brand collaborations with some of the biggest names in fashion – Chanel, Gucci, Nike and Prada, but said at times, she sacrificed her commitment to the pool for her willingness to expand her career out of the water.
She studied at Sacred Heart Canossian College. She swam for the University of California, Berkeley, from which she graduated with a degree in environmental economics and policy in 2014. She is also a winner of the 24th Hong Kong Outstanding Students Awards.
